AC Milan's defeat to Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League encouraged some commentators to launch a criticism campaign against Rossoneri striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Having missed a few good opportunities to score, 'Hunter' was eventually subistituted by Filippo Inzaghi in 77th minute of the match. Ex Milan superstar Marco van Basten commented on the Leonardo's decision: "I don't know why he was substituted. Inzaghi is a great player but you cannot forget that he will soon turn 37. You cannot focus on him for the future. Klaas is 10 years younger. Even if he made some mistakes, I would have left him on the pitch."

Van Basten emphasized that "Klaas is a good striker, but he can't work miracles by himself. [...] There are games that a player needs in order to feel confident and part of the team."
