The upcoming Champions League clash between AC Milan and Barcelona (Wed, Nov 23rd) was a great chance to ask Marco van Basten about his feelings towards Barca and to make some comparison between the two teams.

"The current Barcelona have got more quality than Sacchi's Milan had. They pressure their opponents with three playmakers and are able to play a surprising diagonal ball at any time. We, on the other hand, were playing more athletic football and we had a great defensive midfielder, Rijkaard," Marco told El Mundo Deportivo.

When asked about tomorrow's game Van Basten commented: "it's a group stage game so both team can calculate and thus Milan stand more chance to win it than in the cup phase."

Ex Milan superstar said a few words on Messi as well: "There is no doubt about it, he's clearly the best player in the world. He's a phenomenon who has already won everything, but is still hungry for more. His humbleness only makes him greater. He can become even more influential though. He is a born leader and should impose himself like Diego Maradona did. I'm not only talking about Barcelona, but also about Argentina. Leo should lead the way and the others should follow him," concluded San Marco
